Ant #327. Russia: Europe or not?

It's an interesting fact!

When people talk about Russia, they call it a european country.
When you talk to russians, most of them don't like to associate themselves to Europe (thanx to Putin's propaganda).

The thing is... Russian culture is definitely European culture. Russian music, literature, art are all based on European ones. Russian language is in European group of languages. Russians are Christians. We live in the same media space, we share the same past and future. Russian etiquette is European etiquette. First Russian universities were opened by the tsar Peter the 1st who brought the education from Europe. Russian science exists thanks to European science. After all, Russia is by far the largest European country by both area and population, taking up to 40% of the continent.

But many Russians still think they have nothing to do with Europe because Europeans support gays.
Doh.

Ant #282. Addicted to Internet.

2 days.

2 days since my home internet collapsed. 

At first it felt unusual and uncomfortable. Then it felt really depressing coz I didn't only leave with no facebook chat and Skype, but also with no news, movies and possibility to work. But now it feels... challenging. Yeah, challenging! I met a friend, spent the whole day on a riverside talking to him, now I'm making a coffee and starting a new book that I wanted to start reading many weeks ago. 

P.S. I made this post on my phone, if u wanna know! But I don't really like surfing on it, so take it as an exception! ;-)

This poster blew my mind when I saw it!

Carla Morrison, mexican singer, very tallented girl, is coming to my city!

She's not worldwide famous, but it only makes her more autentical, more inderpendent and more artistic.

I discovered her accidentely. There was a free song of her on iTunes, I downloaded it and loved it! Then I downloaded the whole album and found it amazingly good!

She sings spanish, and I used to hate all the spanish songs, but she has become and exception for me!

But I never thought that one day I'll see her life, coz I doubt she would ever come to Russia with a concert. But I'm not there anymore, I'm here, and I got a great opportunity to see my first spanish-singing "crash" ever! )))

So... I got a 1st row ticket! ;-)

Finally I found a free time, sat down calmly, opened my laptop and read the interview that Madonna gave to Harper's Bazaar magazine.

I'm not gonna repeat what she said, you can read it here.

I just wanna say that it's not only one of her most sincere interviews, but also words confessions of a grown woman that went through a "filth" and found a wisdom, was a provocative girl with hairy armpits and became a mother of 4 beautiful children.

And now when she discovered the light she wants to share it with us. She says we must be daring ourselves. That's what she's been doing all these years, that's how she's got everything she has now.

Daring, challenging ourselves... Every day! Non-stop! So we can go ahead and make the world a better place for everyone: black, white, muslim, jew, gay, straight!
We must open our eyes and admit the truth: in our hatred, intolerance and disconnection we have gone too far and something must be done until it's too late.

A few hours ago I was coming back home.
I entered the building, said HI to security guard and went to the elevator.
There was a girl.
I asked her which floor did she need. She said: "No worries, I'm going high."
I pressed 11, my floor.
She said:
- Aw, you also live on 11th?
- Yeah, you too?
- Yeah! But where exactly? I never saw you.
- 11D, but I have just come here to Argentina. So now I live with Juan.
- I don't know him. I live in this building more than a year, but we never met.
- So... What's your name?
- I'm Leila, and yours?
- Gena. Nice to meet you!
- Nice to meet you too! If you need something, feel free to come and ask.
- Thank you very much! See you!
- See you! Bye!

In my previous apartments I lived 4 and 3 years correspondingly, and I didn't know any of my neighbours, and here I live a few weeks and already met this beautiful girl!
I hope we become friends!

Have I ever written something about it?
I guess, NO.

Well, usually I don't like it at all. Moreover I don't think it's an art. It's not about beauty, deep feelings, good emotions or positive vibes. All that artists wanna do is to create something nobody did before. And they don't care that noone except of them cannot understand their "art". So I don't see any point in it, whatever it is: pictures, architecture, books...

But yesterday I've changed my mind a little bit after visiting the "Double Perspective: the Contemporary art of Japan. Imagined world / Fantasies".
I never thought that the modern art can be so cute, touching, interesting and deep.
