Ant #133. MADONNA: the one and the only.

Yes, yes, it's another one post about my fav singer ever.
But this time I'm not gonna tell you about her current tour or her next singles.

Last months I've been reading many exciting articles about her (that's good) and also hateful comments below (that's bad).
They say:
- she's too old,
- she has to retire,
- she's talentless,
- she's nothing,
- she's desperate,
- she's irrelevant,
- she is in the past.

I just smile )))

I understand when people dislike something or somebody. It's their choice, their taste. For example, I don't like Rihanna and Lady Gaga. But even if the first doesn't have #1 album in US and the second sells her album for $0,99, it's silly to say they are "nothing". I admit that they both have a big success, but it doesn't change my opinion about them.
So I would like to hear something real from people, but not their stupid emotions based on a jealousy.

Let me show you some numbers. Not from her previous career, but from 2012.
Just a few facts!

MDNA (Deluxe Version)
1) MDNA album.

With only pre-order MDNA album became #1 in more than 50 countries and the biggest pre-order in iTunes history.
After its release in march it became #1 again in more than 40 countries.
With 12th #1 album in UK Madonna became the most successful solo-artist in the history of this country.

Super Bowl 46 Halftime Show
2) Super Bowl Halftime show.

It was her the only one promo-performance, but it was enough to remind everyone who is the Queen.
Madonna had the largest viewership for a Halftime Show in Super Bowl history and history of american television - 117,8 million viewers, 3 million more than the game itself.

MDNA Tour (Milan, Italy)
3) MDNA Tour.

It's absolutely obvious that MDNA Tour is set to be the most grossing tour of the year and one of the most grossing tours in history. Some numbers:
"Following the tickets sale opening, the tour created immense success at the box office and many venues were sold out. In Tel Aviv, 33,000 tickets for the first show at Ramat Gan Stadium were selling fast in the months previous to the premiere. Madonna's first ever show in Abu Dhabi had fans lined up in front of the Virgin Megastore for tickets of 24 hours before they went on general sale. All initial 22,000 tickets sold out in record-breaking one hour, prompting the promoter to add the second date there, which in turn sold out within a week. In Turkey, 47,000 tickets for the show in Istanbul sold out in four days. In the United States, 60,000 tickets for a show in Yankee Stadium, New York City sold out in 20 minutes, prompting Live Nation to add a second date. Tickets for the show in Kansas City sold out in 12 minutes, while the show in Houston sold out in less than an hour. In Canada, the concert at the Bell Centre sold 16,000 tickets in 20 minutes, along with the show at the Plains of Abraham, selling 65,000 tickets in one hour. In Ottawa, 15,000 tickets for the show in Scotiabank Place sold out in 21 minutes, becoming the fastest-selling concert in the arena's 16-year history, beating out previous record holder AC/DC in 2009. All available tickets for Madonna's first date in Amsterdam sold out in 30 minutes, prompting Live Nation once again to add a second date. In Colombia, 38,000 tickets for her first concert in Medellín sold exclusively during the pre-sale and remaining 2,000 tickets for the public sale sold out in three hours. Madonna's first show in Medellín sold out in a record breaking 15 hours prompting the promoter to add the second date there. 15,000 pre-sale tickets for the second Medellín date sold out. Madonna also sold more than 100,000 tickets in two days for three shows in Brazil."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You still think she's irrelevant?
I think she's more relevant than she's ever been!

But it absolutely doesn't mean you have to love her. I just ask you to stop being ignorant and show (at least) a lil bit respect to the woman who makes a history.

Thanx and have a nice day.

Ant #106. Turn Up The Radio.

Last few days were the worst in my life,
and only this video saved me...

When the world starts to get you down
And nothing seems to go your way
And the noise of a maddening crowd
Makes you feel like you're going to go insane

There's a glow of a distant light
Calling you to come outside
To feel the wind in your face and your skin
And it's here I begin my story

Madonna - Girl Gone Wild (MDNA Tour)

June 3, 2012

Ant #93. MDNA Tour.

This is simply the best I've ever seen in my life!
Honestly! I'm not joking and I'm not saying that because I'm still excited.
The show is really amazing!

Madonna is in her best shape. The stage are blowing minds. The choreography is unbelievably difficult. The costumes are gorgeous. Backdrops, lights, sounds, interludes... Everything is in the highest lever! Well, what can you expect from the Queen of Pop?

The stage has a triangle form. But inside there was a small area for 100 people. I stood inside, coz I won a contest. You know, I wrote about it. )))

So let's talk about the show step by step!

1. The opening is EPIC! The best she has ever done! With a religious theme, monks, cross and, of course, Madonna praying with a gun in her hand. The hebrew singing goes to "Girl Gone Wild"
Take a look!

The most agressive first part on the show continues with "Revolver" song. One of my favorite songs about love. And then "Gang Bang" from her latest album MDNA.

Then she's sorry and singing her classic "Papa Don't Preach", but her own monsters put chains on her. Then goes completely re-worked "Hung Up", supported with acrobatic dances.
The show continues with another one song from MDNA "I Don't Give A..." with Nicki Minaj on screens.

The end of a first part is absolutely amazing! Madonna goes up on a cube under the cross! And it ends with a very beautiful "Best Friend/Heartbeat" interlude with a gothic video on screens.

2. The second "cheerleading" part starts with one of the signature song "Express Yourself". It could be good, but it turns GREAT! Everyone knows that Lady Gaga was claimed by critics for the plagiarism of "Express Yourself". So what does Madonna? In the end of the song she starts to sing her song and "Born Reductive This Way" line over line showing everyone that both songs sounds absolutely the same)))) Then she continues repeating "Respect yourself! Respect yourself!" and finishing with "She's not me! She's not me"! And at this time there was a video on screen with a monster (read "Mother Monster") eating the jars with Madonna's stuff like pony-tale and cone-bra! Wooohooo!!!! I cannot imagine how angry were Gaga and her fans! Good spittle, Madonna! )))))

The next song is "Give Me All Your Luvin'", but fully re-worked as well, with hot dances on a triangle runway and drummers flying under the ceilimg. So impressive!

3. She sings "Turn Up The Radio" rocking on a guitar! She loves it!

Then there starts something incredible! Madonna invited the basque Kalakan trio to support her on stage. And they made a great mash with Madonna's classic "Open Your Heart".
She says a speach about sex, race and sexual orientation equalities and continues with Golden Globe winning song "Masterpiece". So touching!!!

Next is my fav video interlude "Justufy My Love". This is a sex concentrtion! WOW!

And VOGUE!!! With a cone bra coming back from the past with a new incredible form!

Next songs: luxe re-worked "Candy Shop/Erotica" medley, "Human Nature" and "Like A Virgin", the last one is simply incredible!

Then while Madonna's changing her clothes, there is another video interlude with a political taste. She loves doing that. With "Nobody Knows Me" song she also laughs at all her haters, claims politicians, remembers all teen-suicides. That's all Madonna about!

5. The last part starts with "I'm Addicted", my fav song on MDNA. (Sorry for the queality, I was jumping).

The show continues with "I'm A Sinner" and her iconic "Like A Paryer". So sad I haven't filmed it. It was amazing when the whole stadium was standing, claping their hands and singing! MAGIC!!!

And the final song is "Celebration" remix! Epic ending!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, what should I say? I think that videos and pictures say for themselves.
It's not only her best show, it's better than anything else!!!

If you don't even like Madonna, but have an opportunity to see the show live, you gotta do that!

Ant #77. MDNA World Tour Countdown!

Madonna MDNA World Tour

March 20, 2012

Ant #65. MDNA track-by-track review.

1) Girl Gone Wild - 5* - Wonderful opening of the album, showing its atmosphere. There's no way to sit down when you hear the first accords. The lyrics tell us who Madonna really is, "I'm a bad girl anyway" she sings in the end. Of course, she is, she's been and she always will be.

2) Gang Bang - 5* - It's beautiful in its darkness. The beat makes my heart beating faster. Incredible lyrics, simple and full of metaphors. Great idea to make this song growing up, but not blasting. It's like an orgasm with no cumming. After listening to this song, I'm moaning "Oh, Madonna, give me some more, pleaaaase!"

3) I'm Addicted - 5* - If you still don't understand why the album is called MDNA, listen to this song once again. It's a drug, the most dangerous drug in the world. The music is simply awesome. The strongest track on the album.

4) Turn Up The Radio - 5* - It must be the next single, definitely. Even if it's not my favorite track, the people will love it. Bright and shiny, and the most important is it doesn't have obscene. To pass the censorship on TV and radio many songs must be edited and they will lose their charm. But this song is made for the airplays.

5) Give Me All Your Luvin' - 5* - I still love this song, and I don't f*cking care what do you think about it. It's funny, catchy and could to be the huge hit.

6) Some Girls - 3,5* - I don't know who produced this song, but he must be fired. It has a nice retro smell, but it sounds like any Bloodhound Gang's song, that's completely disappointing. But I think people will like this song.

7) Superstar - 3* - Not very interesting song to me. Nice rhythm, but the melody is too simple and not catchy at all. "Ooh-la-la, you're a superstar!". Aha, yeah.

8) I Don't Give A - 4,5* - Ooooph, that's bold! Great funny song with a smash beat and cool personal lyrics. It's a slap into so many people's faces. Nicki Minaj is extremely relevant in this song. Her rap makes me laughing like a devil. "Hey-yo Madonna, you're original don dada!" Don dada??? Suuuuuure)))) Ahahahhaa)))) "There's only one Queen and that's Madonna, b*tch!" Yes, NM, we know it. Thanx. ;-)

9) I'm A Sinner - 3,5* - If "Beautiful Stranger" song didn't exist, I would rank this song with 5*, but sorry, it's a self-repetition. It's obvious, cheap and unforgivable self-repetition. I knew she didn't need Orbit in this album, and this track has proved my fears.

10) Love Spent - 4* - I've changed my mind about this song... A lil bit. I still don't like the 2nd part of the song, which was leaked as a snippet. I don't even like that the song sounds like two different songs merged in one. To me it's weird. The lyrics is what made me to rate it 4*, I find it kinda interesting. Nothing more to say about this Orbit's work.

11) Masterpiece - 4* - On "W./E." soundtrack I would rate it with 5*, because I love it so badly. I'm pretty sure that everyone who loved at least once must love "Masterpiece". The comparison to Mona Lisa is a brilliant work of art. But I think this song is not supposed to be on this album. Absolutely another story.

12) Falling Free - 2* - From the moment I first heard it I think it's a fail. And don't even try to tell me about lyrics. When the music and melody are unlistenable, I don't care about words. Boring, boring and boring... Madonna could do better. Could William Orbit? Barely. At least on this album. I wanted to rate it with 1*, but I'm afraid of readers's revenge. )))

13) Beautiful Killer - 5* - Excellent old-school work, my second favorite song on the album. "Can't really talk with your gun in my mouth..." ))) Oh yeah, Madge. We know you like it )))

14) I F****d Up - 3,5* - Not bad song, worth its place in bonuses. I do like how the beat grows up and then falls down. Very interesting. As it was previously said, this song is dedicated to her ex-husband Guy Ritchie and she's probably missing him. Well, from the first listening I thought the same, but in the end there's a word putting everything on its place. "I wish I could have you back maybe one day... Or not?!" You got it? She doesn't want to have him back, it's just an nostalgia, waves of the memory.

15) B-Day Song - 3,5* - I wanted to rate it with 0*, but damn it, this shit sticks into my brains. I never heard more idiotic song than this one. I hope at least Madonna had fun when she was writing it. )))

16) Best Friend - 3,5* - I didn't hear the full song, but the snippet is not very promising.

VERDICT:
I wanted to take 1 point out because of re-collaboration with William Orbit, coz I hate self-repetitions more than bad songs. But then I thought it's not fair, because all other songs are incredible. I think it's her best album since Ray Of Light or maybe even simply the best. It's still growing on me. But even if it's left on 2nd place after ROL, it will be her purest album anyway. Very rich sound, deep balanced lyrics, style galore.
My rank is 5*.

The best song: I'm Addicted.
The worst song: Falling Free.

Ant #63. I F****d Up.

I fucked up
I made a mistake
Nobody does it better than myself
I'm sorry
I'm not afraid to say
I wish I could take it back but I can't

I'm so ashamed
You're in so much pain
I blamed you when things didn't go my way
If I didn't you'd be hear
If I didn't fight back I'd have no fear
If I took another path things would be so different
But they're not
I could've just kept my big mouth closed
I could've just done what I was told
Maybe I should've turned silver into gold
But in front of you I was cold

I fucked up
I made a mistake
Nobody does it better than myself
I'm sorry
I'm not afraid to say
I wish I could take it back but I can't

I thought we had it all
You brought out the best in me
And somehow I destroyed the perfect dream
I thought we were indestructible
I never imagined we could fall
You wanna know how to make God laugh
Tell him your plans

We could have bought a house with a swimming pool,
filled it up with warhols it would be so cool
Could've gone riding stallions in the country side
with a pack of great danes racing eye to eye
We could have toured the world in a private jet
Run naked on the beach all soaking wet
We could have climbed the mountains seen a perfect sunrise
Written our names across the sky
We could have gotten drunk and driven on the autobahn
we could have got ourselfs arrested in St Germain
We could have lived like crazy till the day we die
Instead I made you cry

I fucked up
I made a mistake
Nobody does it better than myself
I'm sorry
Je suis desole
I wish I could take it back but I can't

I fucked up
I made a mistake
Nobody does it better than myself
I'm sorry
I'm not afraid to say
I wish I could have you back maybe one day
Or not...

Ant #55. Love Spent.

"I want you to hold melike you hold your money
Hold on to it
'till there's nothing left

Love spent
Feeling love spent
Yeah, I'm love spent
Wondering where the love went
Love spent
Yeah I'm love spent
Really love spent
Wondering where it all went

Don't try to take me like you took your money
Take me In your arms until your last breath
I want you to hold me like you hold your money
Hold me in your arms until there's nothing left

Nothing left, nothing left, nothing left, nothing left

Love spent
Feeling love spent
Yeah, I'm love spent
Wondering where the love went
Love spent
Yeah I'm love spent
Really love spent
Wondering where it all went"

Ant #54. Addicted to MDNA.

It's a countdown! Yeah! It is!

I'm so excited about Madonna's upcoming album MDNA.
The more I hear new songs, the more I'm in love with her 12th babe.
The more I read reviews, the more I'm thrilled.
The more I'm checking my calendar, the more I'm dying to buy it.

Uuuh! Crazy times are coming from the clouds!

Yesterday, the snippet of "I'm addicted" song was revealed and it has blown my mind!
Yes, I liked "Give Me All Your Luvin'" and especially "Masterpiece", but "Girl Gone Wild" and "I'm addicted" are what I really would like to hear on her new album!
This is so unusual for her! It's like a trance!

And I'm not very happy about her collaboration with William Orbit.
But don't misunderstand me!
I agree with all of you, that "Ray Of Light" is one of her best albums, but I don't like self-repetitions.
It was and it was great! Please, not again!
Don't stop! Go ahead!

Ant #49. GIRL GONE WILD lyrics.

It's so hypnotic
The way he pulls on me
It's like the force of gravity
Right up under my feet

It's so erotic
This feeling can't be beat
It's coursing through my whole body
Feel the heat

I got that burning hot desire
And no one can put out my fire
It's coming right down through the wire

Here it comes
When I hear them 808 drums

It's got me singin' hey-ey-e
Like a girl gone wild
A good girl gone wild
I'm like hey-ey-e
Like a girl gone wild
A good girl gone wild

Girls they just wanna have some fun
Get fired up like a smokin' gun
On the floor till the daylight comes
Girls they just wanna have some fun

A girl gone wild
A good girl gone wild
I'm like a girl gone wild
A good girl gone wild

The room is spinnin'
It must be the tanqueray
I'm about to go astray
My inhibition's gone away

I feel like sinnin'
You got me in the zone
DJ play my favourite song
Turn me on

I got that burning hot desire
And no one can put out my fire
It's coming right down through the wire

Here it comes
When I hear them 808 drums

It's got me singin' hey-ey-e
Like a girl gone wild
A good girl gone wild
I'm like hey-ey-e
Like a girl gone wild
A good girl gone wild

Girls they just wanna have some fun
Get fired up like a smokin' gun
On the floor till the daylight comes
Girls they just wanna have some fun

I know, I know, I shouldn't act this way
I know, I know, I know, good girls don't misbehave, misbehave
But I'm a bad girl anyway
Forgive me

Hey-ey-e
Like a girl gone wild
A good girl gone wild
I'm like hey-ey-e
Like a girl gone wild
A good girl gone wild

Girls they just wanna have some fun
Get fired up like a smokin' gun
On the floor till the daylight comes
Girls they just wanna have some fun

A girl gone wild
A good girl gone wild
I'm like a girl gone wild
A good girl gone wild

Ant #34. Give Me All Your Luvin'

I'm super excited tonight!!!

Madonna has revealed the cover art of her upcoming single "Give Me All Your Luvin'".

Oh my f***ing god! I cannot stop looking at her!
She's hot as hell!
When I first saw it, I thought I'll dye! Arterial pressure rose, the temperature raised, blood boiled.
I guess I looked like a hungry man! )))

On 3rd of february she's releasing this single on iTunes with her promising-to-be-great video and performing at the SuperBowl Halftime show!

The new album titled MDNA comes out on March 26th.

The Queen! The one and the only!
